3D Printing has a lot in store for Education and STEM programs
As an avid supporter of STEM and Project Lead the Way in our regional schools, we’ll be participating in this year’s TechFest Dayton 2014 orchestrated by the ASC – Affiliate Societies Council of Dayton
Of course we’ll have 3D printers humming away all day along with the opportunity for the students to get their hands and minds in gear by doing some 3D modeling and 3D printing with those 3D printers! We’ve had long lines of youngsters in the past years patiently awaiting their turn to jump in and MAKE something that they can call their own.
The popular online apps at Cubify.com will be where we explore some of the fun and easy ways to create and MAKE things in 3D. We’ll then show how they can simply 3D print the model and “make it real.”
Also, this year, we’ll introduce “people scanning” at the booth with the newest scanner out and show how simple it is to create a 3D mini-me.
We will also be presenting on this amazing technology both days – Saturday at 4:00 pm in room 131 and Sunday at 3:00 pm also in room 131. “3D Printing – What? Why? How? Who?”
